Anna Mae Walker

Anna Mae Walker, PGG-KS, Passed away on Monday, April 6, 2009 at the age of 101 years old. She was born on August 22, 1907. Mrs Walker was a lifelong member of the White Church Christian Church and at one time was a Sunday School teacher and also a member of the church's Dorcas Society. She was a 78-year member and Past Worthy Matron of Sincerity Chapter #295 O.E.S. She was a member of Ruth Conclave #13, True Kindred and Keelah Court 49 of the Ladies' Oriental Shrine of North America. She was also a Past Bethel Guardian of Bethel #2, Kansas City, Kansas as well as a Past Grand Guardian of the state of Kansas. She enjoyed traveling and visiting relatives and friends from coast to coast and was the only Walker woman who could drive in the Model T era. Her family invites friends and relatives to call at the Highland Park Funeral Home, 41st and State Avenue, Kansas City, Kan., from 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday, April 13, which will include an Eastern Star ceremony at 6:30 p.m. Family and friends are also invited to join them in the final celebration of her life at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, April 14, at White Church Christian Church, 2200 N. 85th St., Kansas City, Kan. Internment at Chapel Hills Memorial Gardens, 701 N. 94th St., Kansas City, Kan.
